61|1|Sabbaha lillahi ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu 61|1|Whatever that lies in the heavens and whatever that lies in the earth glorifies Allâh, for He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. 61|2|Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo lima taqooloona ma la tafAAaloona 61|2|O you who believe! why should you say what you do not do. 61|3|Kabura maqtan AAinda Allahi an taqooloo ma la tafAAaloona 61|3|It is very hateful in the sight of Allâh that you should profess what you do not practise. 61|4|Inna Allaha yuhibbu allatheena yuqatiloona fee sabeelihi saffan kaannahum bunyanun marsoosun 61|4|Indeed, Allâh loves those who fight in His cause in compact ranks (so arrayed) as if they were a solid structure cemented with (molten) lead. 61|5|Waith qala moosa liqawmihi ya qawmi lima tuthoonanee waqad taAAlamoona annee rasoolu Allahi ilaykum falamma zaghoo azagha Allahu quloobahum waAllahu la yahdee alqawma alfasiqeena 61|5|(Recall the time) when Moses said to his people, `My people! why do you malign me when you know that I am certainly a Messenger from Allâh to you.' But when they deviated from the right course, Allâh let their hearts deviate (as they were), for Allâh guides no transgressing people to success. Click here to return to the top 61|6|Waith qala AAeesa ibnu maryama ya banee israeela innee rasoolu Allahi ilaykum musaddiqan lima bayna yadayya mina alttawrati wamubashshiran birasoolin yatee min baAAdee ismuhu ahmadu falamma jaahum bialbayyinati qaloo hatha sihrun mubeenun 61|6|And (recall the time) when Jesus, son of Mary, said, `O Children of Israel! surely I am a Messenger sent to you by Allâh fulfilling (the prophecies contained in) the Torah which preceded me and pronouncing the good news of (the advent of) a great Messenger named Ahmad, who will come after me.' But when he (- the Prophet Muhammad) came to them with clear proofs, they said, `His are the enchanting ways separating (us from our people).' 61|7|Waman athlamu mimmani iftara AAala Allahi alkathiba wahuwa yudAAa ila alislami waAllahu la yahdee alqawma alththalimeena 61|7|But who is more unjust than he (who believes in the trinity of God), who forges a lie in the name of Allâh (by calling Jesus the son of God), while he is called (to join the fold of Islam). And Allâh guides no unjust people to the ways of success. 61|8|Yureedoona liyutfioo noora Allahi biafwahihim waAllahu mutimmu noorihi walaw kariha alkafiroona 61|8|They desire to extinguish the light of Allâh with (the breath of) their mouths. But Allâh will perfect His light even though the disbelievers consider it hard. 61|9|Huwa allathee arsala rasoolahu bialhuda wadeeni alhaqqi liyuthhirahu AAala alddeeni kullihi walaw kariha almushrikoona 61|9|It is He Who sent His Messenger with (the source of) guidance and true lasting faith, that he may help it prevail over all other faith, even though the polytheists consider it difficult. 61|10|Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo hal adullukum AAala tijaratin tunjeekum min AAathabin aleemin 61|10|O you who believe! shall I direct you to a bargain that will save you from a woeful punishment? Click here to return to the top 61|11|Tuminoona biAllahi warasoolihi watujahidoona fee sabeeli Allahi biamwalikum waanfusikum thalikum khayrun lakum in kuntum taAAlamoona 61|11|(The bargain is that) keep your faith in Allâh and His Messenger and keep on striving hard in the cause of Allâh with your possessions and your persons. That would be best for you if only you realise. 61|12|Yaghfir lakum thunoobakum wayudkhilkum jannatin tajree min tahtiha alanharu wamasakina tayyibatan fee jannati AAadnin thalika alfawzu alAAatheemu 61|12|He will protect you against the evil consequences of your sins and admit you into Gardens served with running streams and (into) delightful and pure dwelling places (lying) in the Gardens of Eternity. This is the (way to) supreme achievement. 61|13|Waokhra tuhibboonaha nasrun mina Allahi wafathun qarreebun wabashshiri almumineena 61|13|And (He will confer upon you ) yet another (favour) which you love. (It is the) help from Allâh and an early victory (that you will win in this very world). So give glad tidings (of it) to the believers. 61|14|Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo koonoo ansara Allahi kama qala AAeesa ibnu maryama lilhawariyyeena man ansaree ila Allahi qala alhawariyyoona nahnu ansaru Allahi faamanat taifatun min banee israeela wakafarat taifatun faayyadna allatheena amanoo AAala AAaduwwihim faasbahoo thahireena 61|14|O you who believe! be helpers of (the cause of) Allâh (as did the disciples of Jesus), for when Jesus, son of Mary, said to the disciples, `Who will join me as my helper towards (the cause of) Allâh?' The disciples replied, `We are helpers of (the cause of) Allâh.' So a section of the Children of the Israel believed (firmly in Jesus), while another section rejected (him). Thereupon We helped those who believed, against their enemies and (at last) these (believers) gained predominant victory (over the nonbelievers). |

62. Al-Jumuah (The Congregation, Friday), 11 ayat, 2 rukus, Madinan surah |

62|1|Yusabbihu lillahi ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi almaliki alquddoosi alAAazeezi alhakeemi 62|1|Whatever that lies in the heavens and whatever that lies in the earth glorifies Allâh, the Supreme Sovereign, the Holy, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. 62|2|Huwa allathee baAAatha fee alommiyyeena rasoolan minhum yatloo AAalayhim ayatihi wayuzakkeehim wayuAAallimuhumu alkitaba waalhikmata wain kanoo min qablu lafee dalalin mubeenin 62|2|He it is Who has raised among the Arabs a grand Messenger (who hails) from among themselves, who recites to them His revelations to rid them of their impurities and teaches them the Book and Wisdom, though before (the advent of the Prophet) they were steeped in error which disconnected (them from God). 62|3|Waakhareena minhum lamma yalhaqoo bihim wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu 62|3|And (He will raise this Prophet among) others of them (their brethren) who have not yet joined them. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. 62|4|Thalika fadlu Allahi yuteehi man yashao waAllahu thoo alfadli alAAatheemi 62|4|This is Allâh's grace. He bestows it on whom He pleases. And Allâh is the Lord of immense Grace. 62|5|Mathalu allatheena hummiloo alttawrata thumma lam yahmilooha kamathali alhimari yahmilu asfaran bisa mathalu alqawmi allatheena kaththaboo biayati Allahi waAllahu la yahdee alqawma alththalimeena 62|5|The case of those who were charged to observe (the law of) Torah but did not carry out (its commandments in its true spirit), is like the case of a donkey that carries (a load of) volumes (of Books; he neither understands them nor gathers any advantage from them). Wretched is the case of the people who cry lies to the Message of Allâh. And Allâh guides no unjust people to success. Click here to return to the top 62|6|Qul ya ayyuha allatheena hadoo in zaAAamtum annakum awliyao lillahi min dooni alnnasi fatamannawoo almawta in kuntum sadiqeena 62|6|Say, `O you who stand on judaism! if you claim that you are the favourites of Allâh to the exclusion of all other peoples, then, if what you claim be true, express your wish (in prayer-contest) for death (either invoking it on yourselves if you are on falsehood or on me in case you think me an impostor).' 62|7|Wala yatamannawnahu abadan bima qaddamat aydeehim waAllahu AAaleemun bialththalimeena 62|7|But they will never wish for it (- the death) because of (the sinful deeds) their hands have sent forward. And Allâh is fully Aware of the wrongdoers. 62|8|Qul inna almawta allathee tafirroona minhu fainnahu mulaqeekum thumma turaddoona ila AAalimi alghaybi waalshshahadati fayunabbiokum bima kuntum taAAmaloona 62|8|Say, `The death from which you flee is sure to overtake you. Then you will be brought before the Knower of the unseen and the seen, and He will inform you of the truth about all that you had been doing.' 62|9|Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo itha noodiya lilssalati min yawmi aljumuAAati faisAAaw ila thikri Allahi watharoo albayAAa thalikum khayrun lakum in kuntum taAAlamoona 62|9|O you who believe! when the call is made for (the Congregational) Prayer on friday then hasten to extol the name of Allâh and leave off all business. That is best for you if you only knew. 62|10|Faitha qudiyati alssalatu faintashiroo fee alardi waibtaghoo min fadli Allahi waothkuroo Allaha katheeran laAAallakum tuflihoona 62|10|And when the Prayer is finished, disperse in the land and seek Allâh's grace and bounty (and restart your business), and go on remembering Allâh much that you may achieve an all-round success. 62|11|Waitha raaw tijaratan aw lahwan infaddoo ilayha watarakooka qaiman qul ma AAinda Allahi khayrun mina allahwi wamina alttijarati waAllahu khayru alrraziqeena 62|11|But (Prophet!) when some people see some merchandise or any form of amusement, they run for it and leave you standing (on the pulpit), say, `That (reward of worshipping Allâh) which Allâh has (for you) is far better than any amusement or merchandise, and Allâh is the Best of Providers. |

63.Al-Munafiqoon (The Hypocrites), 11 ayat, 2 rukus, Madinan surah |

63|1|Itha jaaka almunafiqoona qaloo nashhadu innaka larasoolu Allahi waAllahu yaAAlamu innaka larasooluhu waAllahu yashhadu inna almunafiqeena lakathiboona 63|1|When the hypocrites come to you, they say, `We bear witness that you are in fact the Messenger of Allâh.' And Allâh knows that you are indeed His Messenger. Yet Allâh (at the same time) bears witness that the hypocrites are truly liars. 63|2|Ittakhathoo aymanahum junnatan fasaddoo AAan sabeeli Allahi innahum saa ma kanoo yaAAmaloona 63|2|They take shelter behind their oaths (to hide their evil designs). Thus they keep people back from the way of Allâh. Surely, evil is the practice they follow. 63|3|Thalika biannahum amanoo thumma kafaroo fatubiAAa AAala quloobihim fahum la yafqahoona 63|3|That (they follow this practice) is because (outwardly) they believed but (inwardly) they disbelieved, so that their hearts are sealed and (now) they do not even understand. 63|4|Waitha raaytahum tuAAjibuka ajsamuhum wain yaqooloo tasmaAA liqawlihim kaannahum khushubun musannadatun yahsaboona kulla sayhatin AAalayhim humu alAAaduwwu faihtharhum qatalahumu Allahu anna yufakoona 63|4|When you see them, their (handsome) figures please you, and if they speak (a masked and polished speech), you listen to their speech. (They look) as though they were wooden statues clad in garments. They think every loud cry is one (raised) against them. They themselves are (your) enemies (in reality), so beware of them. May Allâh ruin them! To what (perversities) are they being turned away (from the Truth)? 63|5|Waitha qeela lahum taAAalaw yastaghfir lakum rasoolu Allahi lawwaw ruoosahum waraaytahum yasuddoona wahum mustakbiroona 63|5|And when it is said to them, `Come so that the Messenger of Allâh may ask forgiveness for you,' they turn their heads aside (by way of refusal and out of scorn and pride). And you see them keeping others (also) back, while they swell big with pride. Click here to return to the top 63|6|Sawaon AAalayhim astaghfarta lahum am lam tastaghfir lahum lan yaghfira Allahu lahum inna Allaha la yahdee alqawma alfasiqeena 63|6|It makes no difference to them whether you ask forgiveness for them or do not ask, Allâh will not forgive them. Indeed, Allâh will guide no transgressing people to success. 63|7|Humu allatheena yaqooloona la tunfiqoo AAala man AAinda rasooli Allahi hatta yanfaddoo walillahi khazainu alssamawati waalardi walakinna almunafiqeena la yafqahoona 63|7|They are a people who say, `Do not spend on those who are with the Messenger of Allâh until they (are obliged to) disperse (and desert him). Yet the treasures of the heavens and the earth belong to Allâh, but the hypocrites do not understand (it). 63|8|Yaqooloona lain rajaAAna ila almadeenati layukhrijanna alaAAazzu minha alathalla walillahi alAAizzatu walirasoolihi walilmumineena walakinna almunafiqeena la yaAAlamoona 63|8|They say, `If we return to Madînah, the most honourable and mightier will drive out the most mean from there.' But (true) power and honour belongs to Allâh and His Messenger and to the believers. Yet the hypocrites do not know (it). 63|9|Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tulhikum amwalukum wala awladukum AAan thikri Allahi waman yafAAal thalika faolaika humu alkhasiroona 63|9|O you who believe! do not let your possessions and your children make you forget the remembrance of Allâh. And those who do so shall be the real losers. 63|10|Waanfiqoo min ma razaqnakum min qabli an yatiya ahadakumu almawtu fayaqoola rabbi lawla akhkhartanee ila ajalin qareebin faassaddaqa waakun mina alssaliheena 63|10|And spend out of that with which We have provided you, before death visits one of you and he says, `My Lord! would that you had granted me reprieve for a short while, (for if you had,) I would have given alms and would have become of the righteous.' 63|11|Walan yuakhkhira Allahu nafsan itha jaa ajaluha waAllahu khabeerun bima taAAmaloona 63|11|And Allâh does not grant reprieve to a soul when its appointed time is come. 64|1|Yusabbihu lillahi ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi lahu almulku walahu alhamdu wahuwa AAala kulli shayin qadeerun 64|1|Whatever lies in the heavens and whatever lies in the earth glorifies Allâh. To Him belongs sovereignty and all true praises (as well). He is the Possessor of Power to do every desired thing. 64|2|Huwa allathee khalaqakum faminkum kafirun waminkum muminun waAllahu bima taAAmaloona baseerun 64|2|It is He who created you. Some of you become disbelievers while others become believers. Allâh sees what you do. 64|3|Khalaqa alssamawati waalarda bialhaqqi wasawwarakum faahsana suwarakum wailayhi almaseeru 64|3|He created the heavens and the earth with an eternal purpose and to suit the requirements of truth and wisdom. And He shaped you and made your shapes beautiful, and to Him is the ultimate return. 64|4|YaAAlamu ma fee alssamawati waalardi wayaAAlamu ma tusirroona wama tuAAlinoona waAllahu AAaleemun bithati alssudoori 64|4|He knows whatever lies in the heavens and the earth and He knows what you conceal and what you do publicly. Allâh knows the innermost thoughts of the hearts. 64|5|Alam yatikum nabao allatheena kafaroo min qablu fathaqoo wabala amrihim walahum AAathabun aleemun 64|5|(Disbelievers!) have you had no news of those who disbelieved in the past? They suffered the evil consequences of their conduct and for them is decreed a woeful punishment. Click here to return to the top 64|6|Thalika biannahu kanat tateehim rusuluhum bialbayyinati faqaloo abasharun yahdoonana fakafaroo watawallaw waistaghna Allahu waAllahu ghaniyyun hameedun 64|6|That was because their Messengers (of God) kept on coming to them with clear proofs but they said, `Shall a mere human being guide us?' So they disbelieved and turned away (paying no heed). Thereupon Allâh showed them that He had no need of them. Indeed Allâh is Self-Sufficient (above all needs,) Worthy of All-Praise (in His own right). 64|7|ZaAAama allatheena kafaroo an lan yubAAathoo qul bala warabbee latubAAathunna thumma latunabbaonna bima AAamiltum wathalika AAala Allahi yaseerun 64|7|Those who disbelieve claim that they will not be raised (from the dead). Say, `No doubt, by my Lord, you shall surely be raised and then you shall be told all that you have done (in life). And that is easy for Allâh.' 64|8|Faaminoo biAllahi warasoolihi waalnnoori allathee anzalna waAllahu bima taAAmaloona khabeerun 64|8|Therefore believe in Allâh and His Messenger and the Light (- the Qur'ân) which We have revealed. And Allâh is Well-Aware of all that you do. 64|9|Yawma yajmaAAukum liyawmi aljamAAi thalika yawmu alttaghabuni waman yumin biAllahi wayaAAmal salihan yukaffir AAanhu sayyiatihi wayudkhilhu jannatin tajree min tahtiha alanharu khalideena feeha abadan thalika alfawzu alAAatheemu 64|9|Beware of the day when He shall gather you together for the Day of Gathering. That will be the Day of the Manifestation of losses. Those who believe in Allâh and act to suit the requirement of it (- the true Faith), will be acquitted of their evil deeds. He will admit them to the Gardens served with running streams. They will abide therein for ever and ever. That is the grand achievement! 64|10|Waallatheena kafaroo wakaththaboo biayatina olaika ashabu alnnari khalideena feeha wabisa almaseeru 64|10|But those who disbelieved and cried lies to our Messages, these are the inmates of Fire. They will abide therein for a long time. What an evil resort it is! Click here to return to the top 64|11|Ma asaba min museebatin illa biithni Allahi waman yumin biAllahi yahdi qalbahu waAllahu bikulli shayin AAaleemun 64|11|No calamity befalls, but by the leave of Allâh. (When it happens) Allâh guides the mind of the person who believes in Him (into the ways of its purification and enlightenment). And Allâh knows all things very well. 64|12|WaateeAAoo Allaha waateeAAoo alrrasoola fain tawallaytum fainnama AAala rasoolina albalaghu almubeenu 64|12|Obey Allâh and obey the Messenger. But if you turn away (paying no heed) then (bear in mind that) Our Messenger is responsible only for the plain conveying ( the Messages). 64|13|Allahu la ilaha illa huwa waAAala Allahi falyatawakkali almuminoona 64|13|Allâh, there is no other, cannot be and will never be One worthy of worship but He. So let the believers put their trust in Allâh. 64|14|Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo inna min azwajikum waawladikum AAaduwwan lakum faihtharoohum wain taAAfoo watasfahoo wataghfiroo fainna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun 64|14|O you who believe! some of your spouses and children are enemies to you, so beware of them. And (if you overlook their shortcomings) and forgive and pardon (them), you will find that surely Allâh is Great Protector, Ever Merciful. 64|15|Innama amwalukum waawladukum fitnatun waAllahu AAindahu ajrun AAatheemun 64|15|Verily, your possessions and your children are a means to reveal your hidden attributes. As for Allâh there awaits an immense reward with Him. Click here to return to the top 64|16|Faittaqoo Allaha ma istataAAtum waismaAAoo waateeAAoo waanfiqoo khayran lianfusikum waman yooqa shuhha nafsihi faolaika humu almuflihoona 64|16|Therefore do your duty towards Allâh to the best of your ability, and listen to Him and Obey Him, and go on spending in (His cause). (If you do so) it will be best for your ownselves. For only those who are rid of covetousness of their souls shall be really successful in every way. 64|17|In tuqridoo Allaha qardan hasanan yudaAAifhu lakum wayaghfir lakum waAllahu shakoorun haleemun 64|17|If you set apart a handsome portion of your wealth for (the cause of) Allâh, He will multiply it for you and will protect you (against your lapses). And Allâh is Most-Appreciating, All-Forbearing. 64|18|AAalimu alghaybi waalshshahadati alAAazeezu alhakeemu 64|18|He is the Omniscient of the unseen and the seen. (He is) the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. Chapter |

65|1|Ya ayyuha alnnabiyyu itha tallaqtumu alnnisaa fatalliqoohunna liAAiddatihinna waahsoo alAAiddata waittaqoo Allaha rabbakum la tukhrijoohunna min buyootihinna wala yakhrujna illa an yateena bifahishatin mubayyinatin watilka hudoodu Allahi waman yataAAadda hudooda Allahi faqad thalama nafsahu la tadree laAAalla Allaha yuhdithu baAAda thalika amran 65|1|Prophet! (tell the believers that) when you decide to divorce (your) women divorce them at a time when their `Iddat (- period of three monthly courses, for which they must wait before they can remarry) can be calculated; (the divorce should be given when she has cleansed herself after the menstrual discharge) and after divorce calculate the period (of `Iddat exactly). And keep your duty to Allâh, your Lord. You shall not turn them out (during this period of `Iddat) from their homes except they commit flagrant sin, nor shall they themselves go out (of them). These are the limits imposed by Allâh and he that violates the limits imposed by Allâh, indeed does injustice to himself. You never know (Allâh's will), for it may be that after this (divorce) Allâh will bring about a new situation (of reconciliation between you). 65|2|Faitha balaghna ajalahunna faamsikoohunna bimaAAroofin aw fariqoohunna bimaAAroofin waashhidoo thaway AAadlin minkum waaqeemoo alshshahadata lillahi thalikum yooAAathu bihi man kana yuminu biAllahi waalyawmi alakhiri waman yattaqi Allaha yajAAal lahu makhrajan 65|2|And when they are about to reach their prescribed term (of `Iddat) either keep them (by revoking the divorce) in an honourable and fair manner or part with them in honourable and fair manner and two honest and just persons from among you witness (your decision). (Let the witnesses) bear true testimony for the sake of Allâh (regarding the situation that resulted in the pronouncement of divorce). Thus the person (who acts according to these guidelines and) who believes in Allâh and the Last Day is exhorted. And he who takes Allâh as (his) shield, He will always make a way out (of his ordeals) for him. Click here to return to the top 65|3|Wayarzuqhu min haythu la yahtasibu waman yatawakkal AAala Allahi fahuwa hasbuhu inna Allaha balighu amrihi qad jaAAala Allahu likulli shayin qadran 65|3|And He will provide him sustenance from where he least expects. And he who puts his trust in Allâh, He is sufficient for him (to fulfill his needs). Allâh is sure to accomplish His purpose. Allâh has set a measure for everything. 65|4|Waallaee yaisna mina almaheedi min nisaikum ini irtabtum faAAiddatuhunna thalathatu ashhurin waallaee lam yahidna waolatu alahmali ajaluhunna an yadaAAna hamlahunna waman yattaqi Allaha yajAAal lahu min amrihi yusran 65|4|If you are in doubt (how to calculate the period) of such of your women as have despaired of monthly courses, then (know that) period for which they must wait is three months and (the same holds good) for such women as have not menstruated (for some other reasons). And (as to) pregnant women, their term (will end) when they are delivered of their burden (after giving birth to a child). And (bear in mind) for the one who keeps his duty to Allâh, He will provide facility in his affair for him. 65|5|Thalika amru Allahi anzalahu ilaykum waman yattaqi Allaha yukaffir AAanhu sayyiatihi wayuAAthim lahu ajran 65|5|That is the command of Allâh. He has revealed this to you. For the one who takes Allâh as a shield He will rid him of (the evil consequences of) his sins and will grant him a very great reward. 65|6|Askinoohunna min haythu sakantum min wujdikum wala tudarroohunna litudayyiqoo AAalayhinna wain kunna olati hamlin faanfiqoo AAalayhinna hatta yadaAAna hamlahunna fain ardaAAna lakum faatoohunna ojoorahunna watamiroo baynakum bimaAAroofin wain taAAasartum fasaturdiAAu lahu okhra 65|6|Lodge (the divorced) women (during the prescribed period in some part of the house) where you are lodging, according to (the best of) your means. Do not harass them so as to make (their stay) hard for them. If they be pregnant, bear their expanses until they are delivered of the child. And if they suckle (the child) for you (as the period of waiting is over with delivery) pay them their dues (for suckling), and (in order to settle it) consult together in all fairness (making only reasonable demands on one another). But if you find it mutually difficult (to come to a settled agreement) then let another woman suckle (the child) for him (- the father). Click here to return to the top 65|7|Liyunfiq thoo saAAatin min saAAatihi waman qudira AAalayhi rizquhu falyunfiq mimma atahu Allahu la yukallifu Allahu nafsan illa ma ataha sayajAAalu Allahu baAAda AAusrin yusran 65|7|Let a man with (plentiful) means spend (for the maintenance of the suckling woman) according to his means. And let him whose means of subsistence are limited spend according to what Allâh has given him. Allâh burdens no person (with responsibility) beyond what He has given him. Allâh will soon bring about easy times after hardships. 65|8|Wakaayyin min qaryatin AAatat AAan amri rabbiha warusulihi fahasabnaha hisaban shadeedan waAAaththabnaha AAathaban nukran 65|8|So many (people of) townships rebelled against the command of their Lord and His Messengers so that We reckoned with them sternly and punished them with a dire punishment. 65|9|Fathaqat wabala amriha wakana AAaqibatu amriha khusran 65|9|So they suffered the (evil) consequences of their deeds, and the subsequent end of their affairs was (in the form of) loss. 65|10|aAAadda Allahu lahum AAathaban shadeedan faittaqoo Allaha ya olee alalbabi allatheena amanoo qad anzala Allahu ilaykum thikran 65|10|Allâh has in store for them a terrible punishment. So take Allâh as a shield O you persons of excellent and pure understanding who have believed! Allâh has indeed sent down to you means of (attaining) eminence - Click here to return to the top 65|11|Rasoolan yatloo AAalaykum ayati Allahi mubayyinatin liyukhrija allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati mina alththulumati ila alnnoori waman yumin biAllahi wayaAAmal salihan yudkhilhu jannatin tajree min tahtiha alanharu khalideena feeha abadan qad ahsana Allahu lahu rizqan 65|11|(In the form of) an eminent Messenger who recites to you the clear revelations of Allâh, which tell the right from the wrong and thus He brings those who believe and (accordingly) do good deeds, out of all kinds of darkness into light. And he who believes in Allâh and does good deeds He will admit him to the Gardens served with running streams to abide therein for ever. Allâh has indeed made a (very) handsome provision for him. 65|12|Allahu allathee khalaqa sabAAa samawatin wamina alardi mithlahunna yatanazzalu alamru baynahunna litaAAlamoo anna Allaha AAala kulli shayin qadeerun waanna Allaha qad ahata bikulli shayin AAilman 65|12|It is Allâh Who has created seven heavens and (He has created) as many earths. The (divine) law permeates through them. (He tells this to you) so that you may know that Allâh is Possessor of all power to do every desired thing and Allâh encompasses everything in His knowledge. |

66|1|Ya ayyuha alnnabiyyu lima tuharrimu ma ahalla Allahu laka tabtaghee mardata azwajika waAllahu ghafoorun raheemun 66|1|Prophet! why do you forbid yourself the things which Allâh has made lawful to you? You seek the pleasure (of Allâh) for your wives. And Allâh is Great Protector, Ever Merciful. 66|2|Qad farada Allahu lakum tahillata aymanikum waAllahu mawlakum wahuwa alAAaleemu alhakeemu 66|2|Allâh has indeed sanctioned to you (- the Muslims) the expiation of your (expiable) oaths. And Allâh is your Patron and He is the All-Knowing, the All-Wise. 66|3|Waith asarra alnnabiyyu ila baAAdi azwajihi hadeethan falamma nabbaat bihi waathharahu Allahu AAalayhi AAarrafa baAAdahu waaAArada AAan baAAdin falamma nabbaaha bihi qalat man anbaaka hatha qala nabbaaniya alAAaleemu alkhabeeru 66|3|(Recall the time) when the Prophet confided to one of his wives (-Hafsah) a certain (secret) matter. When she divulged it (to another of his wives âishah), and Allâh informed him (- the Prophet) of this, he then made known (to her) a part of it (to reprove her for what she had done) and avoided mentioning the other part. So when he told her about it she said, `Who has informed you of this?' He (- the Prophet) said, `The All-Knowing, the All-Aware (God) has informed me.' 66|4|In tatooba ila Allahi faqad saghat quloobukuma wain tathahara AAalayhi fainna Allaha huwa mawlahu wajibreelu wasalihu almumineena waalmalaikatu baAAda thalika thaheerun 66|4|If both of you women (-âishah and Hafsah) turn to Allâh repentant, (He will accept your repentance,) for your hearts are already inclined (to God). But if you abet (each other) against him (- the Prophet), (then bear in mind) Allâh is his helper as also Gabriel and the righteous among the believers and further more all the angels are also his helpers. 66|5|AAasa rabbuhu in tallaqakunna an yubdilahu azwajan khayran minkunna muslimatin muminatin qanitatin taibatin AAabidatin saihatin thayyibatin waabkaran 66|5|It may be that in case he divorces you, his Lord will give him instead wives better than yourselves; (wives who will be) submissive (to Allâh), faithful, obedient, penitent, devout (worshippers of God), given to fasting. (And they may consist of) divorced, widows and virgins. Click here to return to the top 66|6|Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo qoo anfusakum waahleekum naran waqooduha alnnasu waalhijaratu AAalayha malaikatun ghilathun shidadun la yaAAsoona Allaha ma amarahum wayafAAaloona ma yumaroona 66|6|O you who believe! save yourselves and your families from a Fire of which (ordinary) human beings and stone (- hearted people) are fuel and over which angels are appointed, fierce and ferocious, who never disobey the command of Allâh and who do as they are told. 66|7|Ya ayyuha allatheena kafaroo la taAAtathiroo alyawma innama tujzawna ma kuntum taAAmaloona 66|7|O you who disbelieve! (now when you are cast into the Fire) make no excuses this day. You are only requited for what you used to do. 66|8|Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo tooboo ila Allahi tawbatan nasoohan AAasa rabbukum an yukaffira AAankum sayyiatikum wayudkhilakum jannatin tajree min tahtiha alanharu yawma la yukhzee Allahu alnnabiyya waallatheena amanoo maAAahu nooruhum yasAAa bayna aydeehim wabiaymanihim yaqooloona rabbana atmim lana noorana waighfir lana innaka AAala kulli shayin qadeerun 66|8|O you who believe! turn to Allâh in sincere repentance, may be that your Lord will acquit you of your evil deeds and admit you to Gardens served with running streams. On that day Allâh will not disgrace the Prophet nor those who have believed with him. Their light will advance swiftly (radiating) in front of them and on their right hands while they will go on (praying and) saying, `Our Lord! perfect our light for us and protect us (against our lapses). Verily You are Possessor of prudential power to do every desired thing.' 66|9|Ya ayyuha alnnabiyyu jahidi alkuffara waalmunafiqeena waoghluth AAalayhim wamawahum jahannamu wabisa almaseeru 66|9|Prophet! strive hard against the disbelievers and the hypocrites and be stern with them; their resort is Gehenna. What an evil destination! 66|10|Daraba Allahu mathalan lillatheena kafaroo imraata noohin waimraata lootin kanata tahta AAabdayni min AAibadina salihayni fakhanatahuma falam yughniya AAanhuma mina Allahi shayan waqeela odkhula alnnara maAAa alddakhileena 66|10|Allâh compares those who disbelieve to the wife of Noah and the wife of Lot. They were both under (the wedlock of) two of Our righteous servants but acted treacherously towards them both. So they (- Noah and Lot) could do nothing to save them from (the punishment of) Allâh. And it was said to them, `Enter you both into the (Hell) Fire along with those (of your category) who enter therein. Click here to return to the top 66|11|Wadaraba Allahu mathalan lillatheena amanoo imraata firAAawna ith qalat rabbi ibni lee AAindaka baytan fee aljannati wanajjinee min firAAawna waAAamalihi wanajjinee mina alqawmi alththalimeena 66|11|And Allâh compares those who believe to the wife of Pharaoh. Behold! she said, `My Lord! make for me an abode in the Garden (of Paradise) close to You and deliver me from Pharaoh and his work and deliver me from the wrongdoing people. 66|12|Wamaryama ibnata AAimrana allatee ahsanat farjaha fanafakhna feehi min roohina wasaddaqat bikalimati rabbiha wakutubihi wakanat mina alqaniteena 66|12|And Allâh (next compares the believers to) Mary, the daughter of Amrân, she who took care to guard her chastity, so we breathed into him (the believer who is exemplified here) Our inspiration, while she declared her faith in the revelations of her Lord and His Scriptures and she became of the devoted ones to prayers and obedient to Him. |

67|1|Tabaraka allathee biyadihi almulku wahuwa AAala kulli shayin qadeerun 67|1|Blessed is He Who holds complete Supreme power. He is the Possessor of prudential power to do every desired thing. 67|2|Allathee khalaqa almawta waalhayata liyabluwakum ayyukum ahsanu AAamalan wahuwa alAAazeezu alghafooru 67|2|It is He Who has created death and life so that He may reward you (after trying you as to) which of you excels in doing good deeds. He is the All-Mighty, the Great Protector. 67|3|Allathee khalaqa sabAAa samawatin tibaqan ma tara fee khalqi alrrahmani min tafawutin fairjiAAi albasara hal tara min futoorin 67|3|It is He Who has created seven heavens, one upon another in conformity (with each other). You can see no flaw, no incongruity and no imperfection in the creation of the Most Gracious (God). Then look up once more (to heaven). Do you see any flaw? 67|4|Thumma irjiAAi albasara karratayni yanqalib ilayka albasaru khasian wahuwa haseerun 67|4|Look again and yet again (to find out any confusion in Divine law). (The result will only be that) your eye will return to you dazzled while it is weary (and you will be unable to find any discordance). 67|5|Walaqad zayyanna alssamaa alddunya bimasabeeha wajaAAalnaha rujooman lilshshayateeni waaAAtadna lahum AAathaba alssaAAeeri 67|5|We have, certainly, adorned the lowest heaven with (stars-like) lamps and We have made them as means of conjecture for the evil ones (and the astrologers who invent good or bad omens from the movement of the stars). (Remember) We have prepared for these (soothesayers) the punishment of the blazing Fire. Click here to return to the top 67|6|Walillatheena kafaroo birabbihim AAathabu jahannama wabisa almaseeru 67|6|And there awaits the punishment of Gehenna for those who disbelieve in their Lord, what a horrid resort it is! 67|7|Itha olqoo feeha samiAAoo laha shaheeqan wahiya tafooru 67|7|When they are cast therein they will hear its roaring and a loud moaning while it heaves up (boiling with them). 67|8|Takadu tamayyazu mina alghaythi kullama olqiya feeha fawjun saalahum khazanatuha alam yatikum natheerun 67|8|It almost bursts with the intense fury (of the fire). As often as a host (of wrongdoers) is cast into it, its wardens will ask them, `Did no Warner come to you (from the Lord)?' 67|9|Qaloo bala qad jaana natheerun fakaththabna waqulna ma nazzala Allahu min shayin in antum illa fee dalalin kabeerin 67|9|They will say, `No doubt, a Warner did come to (warn) us but we cried lies (to him) and we said, "Allâh has revealed nothing, you are only in great error".' 67|10|Waqaloo law kunna nasmaAAu aw naAAqilu ma kunna fee ashabi alssaAAeeri 67|10|And they will add, `If we had only listened and tried to understand we would not have been among the inmates of the blazing Fire (this day).' Click here to return to the top 67|11|FaiAAtarafoo bithanbihim fasuhqan liashabi alssaAAeeri 67|11|They will thus confess to their sins (when confession will be of no use). The inmates of the blazing Fire are far removed (from God's mercy). 67|12|Inna allatheena yakhshawna rabbahum bialghaybi lahum maghfiratun waajrun kabeerun 67|12|Verily, as to those who hold their Lord in awe in their heart of hearts, there awaits them protection (against lapses) and a great reward. 67|13|Waasirroo qawlakum awi ijharoo bihi innahu AAaleemun bithati alssudoori 67|13|(Mankind!) Whether you conceal your thoughts or speak them openly (it makes little difference to Him) for He knows well the innermost secrets of the hearts. 67|14|Ala yaAAlamu man khalaqa wahuwa allateefu alkhabeeru 67|14|Does He Who has created (all things) not know (His own creation)? He knows all that is abstruse and subtle, and is All-Aware. 67|15|Huwa allathee jaAAala lakumu alarda thaloolan faimshoo fee manakibiha wakuloo min rizqihi wailayhi alnnushooru 67|15|He it is Who has made the earth smooth and subservient to you (for your benefit), so traverse (far and deep) into its spacious paths (for your spiritual and material advancement), and (thus by active labour) eat of His sustenance (and enjoy His gifts). To Him will you all return after your having been raised to life. Click here to return to the top 67|16|Aamintum man fee alssamai an yakhsifa bikumu alarda faitha hiya tamooru 67|16|Do you feel secure from Him Who is overhead (to you all, thinking) that He may leave you downtrodden in the earth and may cause it to sink with you when all of a sudden it begins to shake? 67|17|Am amintum man fee alssamai an yursila AAalaykum hasiban fasataAAlamoona kayfa natheeri 67|17|Do you feel secure from Him Who reigns in the heaven (above you seeing), that He may send a violent storm raising dust and pebbles on you. Look! you shall soon realize how (true) was My warning! 67|18|Walaqad kaththaba allatheena min qablihim fakayfa kana nakeeri 67|18|And certainly their predecessors treated (My Messengers to them) as liars, then, see how (destructive) was My disapproval (at their denial). 67|19|Awalam yaraw ila alttayri fawqahum saffatin wayaqbidna ma yumsikuhunna illa alrrahmanu innahu bikulli shayin baseerun 67|19|Have they not seen above them the birds with spread out wings (in flight) which they also draw in (to swoop down on the prey). None but the Most Gracious (God) holds them (there). Verily, He has knowledge of each and everything. 67|20|Amman hatha allathee huwa jundun lakum yansurukum min dooni alrrahmani ini alkafiroona illa fee ghuroorin 67|20|Or who is it that can serve as an army to help you against the Most Gracious (God if He intends to do you harm). The disbelievers are only labouring under a misconception (in thinking to baffle the cause of God). Click here to return to the top 67|21|Amman hatha allathee yarzuqukum in amsaka rizqahu bal lajjoo fee AAutuwwin wanufoorin 67|21|Or who is it that will provide sustenance for you if He withholds His gifts? The fact is that they persist in transgression and are running away (from the truth). 67|22|Afaman yamshee mukibban AAala wajhihi ahda amman yamshee sawiyyan AAala siratin mustaqeemin 67|22|Is he, who goes groveling on his face, better guided or he who walks upright on a straight and right path? 67|23|Qul huwa allathee anshaakum wajaAAala lakumu alssamAAa waalabsara waalafidata qaleelan ma tashkuroona 67|23|Say, `It is He Who has brought you into being and made for you ears (to hear), eyes (to see) and hearts (to understand). Yet little thanks do you give!' 67|24|Qul huwa allathee tharaakum fee alardi wailayhi tuhsharoona 67|24|Say, `It is He Who has multiplied you in the earth and to Him you shall all be gathered.' 67|25|Wayaqooloona mata hatha alwaAAdu in kuntum sadiqeena 67|25|And they say (to the Muslims), `When will this threat be executed if you are truthful (in your assertions)?' |

67|26|Qul innama alAAilmu AAinda Allahi wainnama ana natheerun mubeenun 67|26|Say, `The knowledge (of the time of its occurrence) is with Allâh. I am only a plain Warner.' 67|27|Falamma raawhu zulfatan seeat wujoohu allatheena kafaroo waqeela hatha allathee kuntum bihi taddaAAoona 67|27|But when they see it (- the threatened punishment) nigh, the faces of those who disbelieve will wear a grieved look. And it will be said (to them), `This is what you used to ask for so persistently.' 67|28|Qul araaytum in ahlakaniya Allahu waman maAAiya aw rahimana faman yujeeru alkafireena min AAathabin aleemin 67|28|Say, `Have you considered if Allâh destroys me and those who are with me (my companions of faith)? Rather He will have mercy on us. Who is there to protect the disbelievers from a woeful punishment, (for the guilty will, all the same, reap the fruit of their evil deeds)?' 67|29|Qul huwa alrrahmanu amanna bihi waAAalayhi tawakkalna fasataAAlamoona man huwa fee dalalin mubeenin 67|29|Say, `He is the Most Gracious (God), in Him have we believed and in Him have we put our trust. And you will soon know which one of us is in manifest error.' 67|30|Qul araaytum in asbaha maokum ghawran faman yateekum bimain maAAeenin 67|30|Say, `Have you considered if (all) your water were to disappear (in the depths of the earth) who, then, will bring you pure flowing water?' |

By the Pen and the (Record) which (men) write,-and the pen and all that they (the owners of the pen - the scholars) write, bear witness (to the fact that), 68|2|Ma anta biniAAmati rabbika bimajnoonin 68|2|By the grace of your Lord you are not a mad man at all. 68|3|Wainna laka laajran ghayra mamnoonin 68|3|(And) most surely, there awaits you a reward never to be cut off. 68|4|Wainnaka laAAala khuluqin AAatheemin 68|4|And you possess outstandingly high standard of moral (excellence). 68|5|And you shall soon know and so will these (- the disbelievers), Click here to return to the top 68|6|As to which of you is afflicted with madness. 68|7|Inna rabbaka huwa aAAlamu biman dalla AAan sabeelihi wahuwa aAAlamu bialmuhtadeena 68|7|Surely, your Lord knows best those who go astray from His path and He (also) knows best those who follow the right guidance. 68|8|Fala tutiAAi almukaththibeena 68|8|So do not listen to those who cry lies to (the Truth). 68|9|Waddoo law tudhinu fayudhinoona 68|9|They wish you to be (dishonestly) pliant (and not condemn their evil deeds in strong language) so they (too) would (in return) adopt a conciliatory attitude. 68|10|Wala tutiAA kulla hallafin maheenin 68|10|Do not listen to any wretched swearer, Click here to return to the top 68|11|Hammazin mashshain binameemin 68|11|Who is backbiter, one who goes about with slander and evil talk, 68|12|MannaAAin lilkhayri muAAtadin atheemin 68|12|Any hinderer of people from doing good, transgressor, a sinful (person). 68|13|AAutullin baAAda thalika zaneemin 68|13|(Nor listen to any) hard-hearted ruffian who is, above all this, utterly useless and known for mischief making, 68|14|An kana tha malin wabaneena 68|14|Only because he owns wealth and (numerous) sons (and influence). 68|15|Itha tutla AAalayhi ayatuna qala asateeru alawwaleena 68|15|When Our Messages are recited to him he says, `(These are mere) stories of the ancients (so outdated rubbish).' Click here to return to the top 68|16|Sanasimuhu AAala alkhurtoomi 68|16|We will soon brand him on the snout (and stigmatize him with indelible disgrace). 68|17|Inna balawnahum kama balawna ashaba aljannati ith aqsamoo layasrimunnaha musbiheena 68|17|(Thus) have We made these (opponents) undergo a trial just as We had made the owners of a garden undergo it when they swore (one to another) that they would pluck (all) its fruit with the next morning. 68|18|And (they were so sure of it that) they made no reservation (for the poor and did not say, `If it be Allâh's will'). 68|19|Fatafa AAalayha taifun min rabbika wahum naimoona 68|19|So a sudden and awful visitation (a calamity) from your Lord visited it while they were asleep. 68|20|So that this (garden) became as it were a dark desolate spot whose (all) fruit had been already plucked. Click here to return to the top 68|21|Meanwhile they called one to another at the break of dawn, 68|22|Ani ighdoo AAala harthikum in kuntum sarimeena 68|22|(Saying), `Go forth early at dawn to your field if you would pluck and gather the fruit.' 68|23|Faintalaqoo wahum yatakhafatoona 68|23|So they set out talking together in low tones, 68|24|An la yadkhulannaha alyawma AAalaykum miskeenun 68|24|(Saying), `Let not a single indigent person break through you to enter this (garden) today.' 68|25|Waghadaw AAala hardin qadireena 68|25|And they repaired to the garden early with the dawn (thinking about themselves as) having the power to shut out (the poor from entry). |

68|26|Falamma raawha qaloo inna ladalloona 68|26|When they saw it (desolated) they said, `We have surely mistaken the way. 68|27|`Rather we have been deprived (of all the fruit of our labour), Indeed we have lost every thing.' 68|28|Qala awsatuhum alam aqul lakum lawla tusabbihoona 68|28|The most upright (man) among them said, `Did I not say to you why do you not give glory (to God)?' 68|29|Qaloo subhana rabbina inna kunna thalimeena 68|29|(Thereupon) they said, `Glory be to our Lord. Certainly we have been wrongdoers.' 68|30|Faaqbala baAAduhum AAala baAAdin yatalawamoona 68|30|Then some of them turned their faces to the others, reproaching one another. Click here to return to the top 68|31|Qaloo ya waylana inna kunna tagheena 68|31|They said, `O Woe to us! we have been, indeed, transgressors. 68|32|AAasa rabbuna an yubdilana khayran minha inna ila rabbina raghiboona 68|32|`We hope our Lord will give us something better instead of this. To our Lord surely we turn humbly.' 68|33|Kathalika alAAathabu walaAAathabu alakhirati akbaru law kanoo yaAAlamoona 68|33|Such is the punishment (for the disbelieving Makkans) in the very life and greater still is the punishment of the Hereafter, if they but understand. 68|34|Inna lilmuttaqeena AAinda rabbihim jannati alnnaAAeemi 68|34|There are indeed gardens of bliss with their Lord for those (dutiful) who (carefully) guard against evil. 68|35|AfanajAAalu almuslimeena kaalmujrimeena 68|35|Are We to treat those who submit (to Our will) as (We treat) those who sever their connection (with Us)? How (ill) you judge! 68|37|Am lakum kitabun feehi tadrusoona 68|37|(O Makkans!) have you a Book wherein you read; 68|38|Inna lakum feehi lama takhayyaroona 68|38|That you will surely have in it (- in the Hereafter) whatever you choose? 68|39|Am lakum aymanun AAalayna balighatun ila yawmi alqiyamati inna lakum lama tahkumoona 68|39|Or have you taken a covenant (which is) binding on Us till the Day of Resurrection, that you shall have there all that you ask for? 68|40|Salhum ayyuhum bithalika zaAAeemun 68|40|Ask them, which of them will vouch for that?

If so, (then) let them bring their associate-gods, if they are truthful. 68|42|Yawma yukshafu AAan saqin wayudAAawna ila alssujoodi fala yastateeAAoona 68|42|On the day when there is severe affliction and the truth is laid bare and they will be called upon to prostrate (themselves), but they will not be able to do so. 68|43|KhashiAAatan absaruhum tarhaquhum thillatun waqad kanoo yudAAawna ila alssujoodi wahum salimoona 68|43|Their looks will be downcast and they will be overwhelmed with disgrace. (Before this state of theirs) they had been called upon to prostrate themselves (before God) while they were (still) safe and sound (but they had refused). 68|44|Fatharnee waman yukaththibu bihatha alhadeethi sanastadrijuhum min haythu la yaAAlamoona 68|44|Therefore leave Me alone to deal with those who deny this revelation. We shall overtake them (leading them to their ruin) step by step, in a manner they do not know. 68|45|Waomlee lahum inna kaydee mateenun 68|45|Yet I shall give them respite (to mend their ways). Verily, My plan is invincible and firm. Click here to return to the top 68|46|Am tasaluhum ajran fahum min maghramin muthqaloona 68|46|(Prophet!) do you ask from them a reward (for conveying to them the Message of prophethood) so that they are weighed down by (this undue) debt (which they find hard to pay)? 68|47|Am AAindahumu alghaybu fahum yaktuboona 68|47|Or have they (the knowledge of) the unseen so that they write it down (to judge things in its light)? 68|48|Faisbir lihukmi rabbika wala takun kasahibi alhooti ith nada wahuwa makthoomun 68|48|So persevere patiently (in carrying out) the commandment of your Lord and do not behave like the Man of the big fish (- Jonah) when he called (to his Lord), and he was depressed with grief. 68|49|Lawla an tadarakahu niAAmatun min rabbihi lanubitha bialAAarai wahuwa mathmoomun 68|49|Had not a gracious favour from his Lord reached him (and) saved him he would surely have been cast off on a barren tract of land while he was in this miserable plight. 68|50|Faijtabahu rabbuhu fajaAAalahu mina alssaliheena 68|50|But his Lord chose him and made him (one) of the righteous. And they say, `He is certainly a mad man.' 68|52|Wama huwa illa thikrun lilAAalameena 68|52|And (they say so although) this (Qur'ân) is nothing less than a means to rise to eminence for all nations. 69|1|The great inevitable reality! 69|2|What is that great inevitable reality? 69|3|(Before it actually takes place) you know little (what it is) and what should make you know what that great inevitable reality is? 69|4|Kaththabat thamoodu waAAadun bialqariAAati 69|4|(The tribe of) Thamûd and `âd treated (the news of) the calamity which strikes (peoples' hearts with terror to make them realize) as a lie. 69|5|Faamma thamoodu faohlikoo bialttaghiyati 69|5|As for Thamûd, they were destroyed by (the shock of) an exceedingly violent and thunderous blast. Click here to return to the top 69|6|Waamma AAadun faohlikoo bireehin sarsarin AAatiyatin 69|6|As for `âd, they were destroyed by a furious wind blowing with extraordinary force, 69|7|Sakhkharaha AAalayhim sabAAa layalin wathamaniyata ayyamin husooman fatara alqawma feeha sarAAa kaannahum aAAjazu nakhlin khawiyatun 69|7|Which He let loose on them for seven nights and eight days, with no break, so that (if you had been there) you would have seen the people lying therein sprawled (looking) as though they were hollow trunks of palm-trees fallen down. 69|8|Fahal tara lahum min baqiyatin 69|8|Now (when they are dead and gone) do you see any of their remnants? 69|9|Wajaa firAAawnu waman qablahu waalmutafikatu bialkhatiati 69|9|Pharaoh and his predecessors and (the inhabitants of) the overthrown cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah) persistently indulged in evil ways. 69|10|FaAAasaw rasoola rabbihim faakhathahum akhthatan rabiyatan 69|10|They disobeyed (in their respective times) the Messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with an ever-increasing punishment. Click here to return to the top 69|11|Inna lamma tagha almao hamalnakum fee aljariyati 69|11|(Similarly Noah was disobeyed) and no sooner did the water (begin to) rise high than We carried (people like) you in the floating Ark. 69|12|LinajAAalaha lakum tathkiratan wataAAiyaha othunun waAAiyatun 69|12|(We relate these events to you) so that We might make them an example for you (O mankind!), and so that the listening ear might listen (and bear in mind). 69|13|Faitha nufikha fee alssoori nafkhatun wahidatun 69|13|When the trumpet is blown with a single blast, 69|14|Wahumilati alardu waaljibalu fadukkata dakkatan wahidatan 69|14|And the earth and the mountains are borne away and then crushed into fine dust with a single crash, 69|15|Fayawmaithin waqaAAati alwaqiAAatu 69|15|Then, on that day the great and sure Reality shall come to be. Click here to return to the top 69|16|Wainshaqqati alssamao fahiya yawmaithin wahiyatun 69|16|And the heaven will cleave asunder for it will have become frail on that day. 69|17|Waalmalaku AAala arjaiha wayahmilu AAarsha rabbika fawqahum yawmaithin thamaniyatun 69|17|And the angels will be (standing) on all sides (of the heaven) and eight (divine powers) will on that day be above them bearing the Throne of Power of your Lord. 69|18|Yawmaithin tuAAradoona la takhfa minkum khafiyatun 69|18|On that day, you shall be brought (before God) and none of your secrets will remain hidden. 69|19|Faamma man ootiya kitabahu biyameenihi fayaqoolu haomu iqraoo kitabiyah 69|19|Now, he who is given his record (of deeds) in his right hand will say (joyfully to others), `Here, take and read my record (of deeds). 69|20|Innee thanantu annee mulaqin hisabiyah 69|20|`Verily, I was sure that I would have to face my reckoning (one day)'. Click here to return to the top 69|21|Fahuwa fee AAeeshatin radiyatin 69|21|So he shall lead an (everlasting) life of blissful happiness, 69|22|In a lofty Garden, 69|23|The clusters of fruit of which will be hanging low, within easy reach (to gather). 69|24|Kuloo waishraboo haneean bima aslaftum fee alayyami alkhaliyati 69|24|(It will be said to those therein,) `Eat and drink delightfully (and to your hearts' content) on account of the good deeds you accomplished in the past days.' 69|25|Waamma man ootiya kitabahu bishimalihi fayaqoolu ya laytanee lam oota kitabiyah 69|25|But he who will be given the record (of his deeds) in his left hand, will say, `O would that I had not been given my record! |

69|26|`And I had not known my reckoning. 69|27|Ya laytaha kanati alqadiyatu 69|27|`Would that it (- the death) had made an end of me! 69|28|Ma aghna AAannee maliyah 69|28|`My wealth has been of no avail to me (this day). 69|29|Halaka AAannee sultaniyah 69|29|`My arguments have failed me, and my authority gone.' 69|30|(Orders shall be issued about such a one,) `Lay hold of him and bind him down with fetters, Click here to return to the top 69|31|Thumma aljaheema salloohu 69|31|`Then cast him into the burning Fire. 69|32|Thumma fee silsilatin tharAAuha sabAAoona thiraAAan faoslukoohu 69|32|`And string him with a chain the length of which is seventy cubits (according to the average length of human life in years). 69|33|Innahu kana la yuminu biAllahi alAAatheemi 69|33|`Verily, he did not believe in Allâh, the Great. 69|34|Wala yahuddu AAala taAAami almiskeeni 69|34|`And he did not urge (the people) to feed the poor, 69|35|Falaysa lahu alyawma hahuna hameemun 69|35|`He has, therefore, no warm friend here this day. Click here to return to the top 69|36|Wala taAAamun illa min ghisleenin 69|36|`Nor (will he be served with) any food excepting something extremely hot, 69|37|La yakuluhu illa alkhatioona 69|37|`Which none but the wrongdoers shall take.' 69|38|Fala oqsimu bima tubsiroona 69|38|But nay! I call to witness those (signs) which you see, 69|39|And that which you do not see, 69|40|Innahu laqawlu rasoolin kareemin 69|40|That this (Qur'ân) is surely the word (brought) by an honourable Messenger. Little is the faith you have! 69|42|Wala biqawli kahinin qaleelan ma tathakkaroona 69|42|Neither it is the word of a soothsayer. Little is the heed you give! 69|43|Tanzeelun min rabbi alAAalameena 69|43|(It is) a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 69|44|Walaw taqawwala AAalayna baAAda alaqaweeli 69|44|Had he (- Muhammad) forged and attributed some saying to Us (and said, `This is what Allâh has revealed to me'). 69|45|Laakhathna minhu bialyameeni 69|45|We would have certainly seized him strongly by the right hand (and so deprived him of all his power), Click here to return to the top 69|46|Thumma laqataAAna minhu alwateena 69|46|And then surely We would have cut off his jugular vein; 69|47|Fama minkum min ahadin AAanhu hajizeena 69|47|Then none of you could have stopped (Us) from (punishing) him (and thus stood in Our way of dealing justly). 69|48|Wainnahu latathkiratun lilmuttaqeena 69|48|Behold! this (Qur'ân) is a means to rise to eminence for those who are dutiful and guard against evil. 69|49|Wainna lanaAAlamu anna minkum mukaththibeena 69|49|We know, indeed, that there are some among you who reject it (- the Qur'ân). 69|50|Wainnahu lahasratun AAala alkafireena 69|50|Verily, this will be a (source of) regret for the disbelievers. 70|1|Saala sailun biAAathabin waqiAAin 70|1|A solicitor solicited the punishment which is bound to befall. 70|2|Lilkafireena laysa lahu dafiAAun 70|2|(Let him know) there will be none to ward it off from the disbelievers. 70|3|Mina Allahi thee almaAAariji 70|3|(It shall come) from Allâh the Master of the ways of ascent; (which even enable a person to rise higher and higher, so why not solicit His grace?) 70|4|TaAAruju almalaikatu waalrroohu ilayhi fee yawmin kana miqdaruhu khamseena alfa sanatin 70|4|The angels and the Spirit (of the faithful) ascend to Him in a day the measure of which is (equal to) fifty thousand years (a day of spiritual advancement of the faithful is equivalent to fifty thousand years of material advancement, thus the development and progress of the human soul knows no end). 70|5|So (while waiting) patiently persevere, an admirable and graceful persevering. Click here to return to the top 70|6|Innahum yarawnahu baAAeedan 70|6|They think it (- the Day of Judgment) to be far off. 70|7|But We know it to be near (at hand). 70|8|Yawma takoonu alssamao kaalmuhli 70|8|The day (it befalls), the heaven shall become (red) like molten copper. 70|9|Watakoonu aljibalu kaalAAihni 70|9|And the mountains shall become like flakes of multicoloured wool. 70|10|Wala yasalu hameemun hameeman 70|10|No warm friend will inquire after a warm friend. 70|11|Yubassaroonahum yawaddu almujrimu law yaftadee min AAathabi yawmiithin bibaneehi 70|11|(Though) they will be placed in sight of one another. The guilty person would wish to redeem himself from the punishment of that day (even) by (offering) his children (as ransom); 70|12|(The guilty will gladly sacrifice) his wife and his brother (to redeem himself); 70|13|Wafaseelatihi allatee tuweehi 70|13|And even his kinsfolk who gave him shelter (in time of distress) 70|14|Waman fee alardi jameeAAan thumma yunjeehi 70|14|And (by offering) all that is on the earth put together, (thinking) if only thus he might deliver himself (from the punishment). 70|15|By no means! (He can never be redeemed). Surely, it (- the punishment you are warned against) is a blazing Fire, Click here to return to the top 70|16|Stripping off the skin even to the extremities (of the human body). 70|17|TadAAoo man adbara watawalla 70|17|It will claim the person (for consumption) who drew back (from accepting the truth) and turned away (refusing to obey). 70|18|(It will claim) him who amassed (wealth) and withheld (it). 70|19|Inna alinsana khuliqa halooAAan 70|19|Verily, such a person is impatient and miserly by nature. 70|20|Itha massahu alshsharru jazooAAan 70|20|He loses heart and becomes fretful when evil afflicts him. Click here to return to the top 70|21|Waitha massahu alkhayru manooAAan 70|21|But is niggardly when good falls to his lot. 70|22|Different however is the case of those devoted to Prayers, 70|23|Allatheena hum AAala salatihim daimoona 70|23|Those persons who remain constant and steadfast in their Prayers, 70|24|Waallatheena fee amwalihim haqqun maAAloomun 70|24|And those in whose wealth there is a recognised right (- a fixed share), 70|25|(Set apart) for one who asks (for help) and also (for one) who is prevented (even from asking for one reason or the other); |

70|26|Waallatheena yusaddiqoona biyawmi alddeeni 70|26|(Different also is the case of) those who accepted the truth of the Day of Requital; 70|27|Waallatheena hum min AAathabi rabbihim mushfiqoona 70|27|And those who are fearful of the punishment from their Lord. 70|28|Inna AAathaba rabbihim ghayru mamoonin 70|28|The fact is that the punishment of their Lord is not (a thing) to be felt secure from; 70|29|Waallatheena hum lifuroojihim hafithoona 70|29|(Different as well is the case of) those who guard their private parts (by restraining their passions). 70|30|Illa AAala azwajihim aw ma malakat aymanuhum fainnahum ghayru maloomeena 70|30|Except from their (free) wives or those (wives of theirs) whom their right hands own (- slave wives), for which they are not to blame. Click here to return to the top 70|31|Famani ibtagha waraa thalika faolaika humu alAAadoona 70|31|But it is those who seek (to satisfy their lust) in any other way excepting that (of marriage) that are the transgressors. 70|32|Waallatheena hum liamanatihim waAAahdihim raAAoona 70|32|And (different also is the case of) those persons who are watchful of their trusts and their covenants, 70|33|Waallatheena hum bishahadatihim qaimoona 70|33|And those who are upright in their evidences (and bear true testimony), 70|34|Waallatheena hum AAala salatihim yuhafithoona 70|34|And those persons who are strict in the observance of their Prayers. 70|35|Olaika fee jannatin mukramoona 70|35|All these (mentioned above) shall be dwelling in Gardens, honoured and treated generously. Click here to return to the top 70|36|Famali allatheena kafaroo qibalaka muhtiAAeena 70|36|What is wrong with those who disbelieve that they come running headlong towards you, 70|37|AAani alyameeni waAAani alshshimali AAizeena 70|37|From the right hand and from the left (- from all directions) in various parties. 70|38|AyatmaAAu kullu imriin minhum an yudkhala jannata naAAeemin 70|38|Does each and every one of them covet to be admitted to the Garden of Bliss. 70|39|Kalla inna khalaqnahum mimma yaAAlamoona 70|39|No (never shall they enter it). We have created them for that substantial purpose (the worth of) which they know (- to discharge their obligations to God and mankind and to themselves). 70|40|Fala oqsimu birabbi almashariqi waalmagharibi inna laqadiroona 70|40|But nay! I call to witness the Lord of the easts and the wests. We are certainly Powerful Click here to return to the top 70|41|AAala an nubaddila khayran minhum wama nahnu bimasbooqeena 70|41|To change (them into) better beings than they are and that We can never be frustrated (in Our purpose). 70|42|Fatharhum yakhoodoo wayalAAaboo hatta yulaqoo yawmahumu allathee yooAAadoona 70|42|Therefore, leave them alone to indulge in unimportant conversation and to amuse themselves (in idle pursuits) until they meet that day of theirs that they are warned of, 70|43|Yawma yakhrujoona mina alajdathi siraAAan kaannahum ila nusubin yoofidoona 70|43|The day when they (having risen to life) will come out hastily from their graves as though they were racing to a target (which they must meet). 70|44|KhashiAAatan absaruhum tarhaquhum thillatun thalika alyawmu allathee kanoo yooAAadoona 70|44|Their eyes will be downcast and shameful; humiliation will be overwhelming them. Such shall be the punishment of the day with which they are being threatened. |
