23|1|Qad aflaha almuminoona

23|1|Truly, success in this life and in the Hereafter does come to the believers,

23|2|Allatheena hum fee salatihim khashiAAoona

23|2|Who turn (to God) in all humility in their Prayer,

23|3|Waallatheena hum AAani allaghwi muAAridoona

23|3|And who keep aloof from all that is vain and idle,

23|4|Waallatheena hum lilzzakati faAAiloona

23|4|And who act conscientiously for the sake of purity (and regularly present the Zakât),

23|5|Waallatheena hum lifuroojihim hafithoona

23|5|And who guard their private parts,

23|6|Except from their spouses, that is those whom they justly and rightfully own in proper wedlock, in that case they are not to be blamed,

23|7|Famani ibtagha waraa thalika faolaika humu alAAadoona

23|7|But those who seek anything else (to satisfy their sexual desire) beyond this, it is they who are the transgressors,

23|8|Waallatheena hum liamanatihim waAAahdihim raAAoona

23|8|And who look after their trusts and their covenants,

23|9|Waallatheena hum AAala salawatihim yuhafithoona

23|9|And who are strict in the observance of their Prayers.

 23|10|Olaika humu alwarithoona

23|10|It is they who are the real heirs;

23|11|Who will own Paradise where they shall abide for ever.

23|12|Walaqad khalaqna alinsana min sulalatin min teenin

23|12|We create a human being from an extract of clay;

23|13|Thumma jaAAalnahu nutfatan fee qararin makeenin

23|13|Then We reduce him to a drop of sperm (and place him) in a safe depository;

23|14|Then We form the sperm into a clot; then We develop the clot into a lump of flesh; then We fashion bones out of this lump of flesh, then We clothe the bones with flesh, thereafter We evolve him into another being. Therefore blessed be Allâh the Best of Creators.

23|15|Thumma innakum baAAda thalika lamayyitoona

23|15|Then as you have passed (these seven stages of physical creation parallel to the above seven spiritual stages) you are heading towards death.

23|16|Thumma innakum yawma alqiyamati tubAAathoona

23|16|Then (after death), you will certainly be raised up to life on the Day of Resurrection.

23|17|Walaqad khalaqna fawqakum sabAAa taraiqa wama  kunna AAani alkhalqi ghafileena

23|17|And We have created above you seven ways, and We have never been neglectful of (the needs of) the creation.

23|18|Waanzalna mina alssamai maan biqadarin faaskannahu fee alardi wainna AAala thahabin bihi laqadiroona

23|18|And We send down water out of the cloud according to (a certain) measure and We lodge it in the earth (as long as it is required), and remember, surely it is We who determine its taking away (through the process of evaporation and many more),

23|19|Faanshana lakum bihi jannatin min nakheelin waaAAnabin lakum feeha fawakihu katheeratun waminha takuloona

23|19|And then with it ( - the water) We grow for you gardens of date-palms and vines and you have plenty of fruit in these (gardens) and of these (fruit) you eat.

23|20|Washajaratan takhruju min toori saynaa tanbutu bialdduhni wasibghin lilakileena

23|20|And (with the water We produce) a tree which grows on Mount Sinai (- olive tree) which bears (in it) oil and (supplies) a condiment (also) for those who use it for food.

23|21|And you have an evidence in (the creation of) the cattle (too), which should lead you from ignorance to knowledge, We give you to drink of that (milk) which is in their bellies. You derive many other benefits from them and you (also) get food from some of them.

 23|22|WaAAalayha waAAala alfulki tuhmaloona

23|22|You are borne on them as well as on the ships.

23|23|Walaqad arsalna noohan ila qawmihi faqala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu afala tattaqoona

23|23|And We sent Noah to his people and he said, `O my people! worship Allâh alone. You have no God other than He. Will you not then guard against evil and seek (His) protection?'

23|24|Faqala almalao allatheena kafaroo min qawmihi ma  hatha illa basharun mithlukum yureedu an yatafaddala AAalaykum walaw shaa Allahu laanzala malaikatan ma  samiAAna bihatha fee abaina alawwaleena

23|24|But the chiefs of those who disbelieved from among his people said, `He is nothing but a human being like yourselves, (only) he seeks to assert (his) superiority over you. And if Allâh had so willed He could have certainly sent down angels (with him). We have never heard of this (sort of a thing) happen in the times of our fathers of yore.

23|27|Then We sent Our revelation to him (directing him), `Make the Ark under Our eyes and (according to the dictates of) Our revelation. And when (the time of) Our judgment comes and the waters of the valley gush forth, then embark there in (the Ark) two of every species, a pair (of every thing that you may need), and your companions, except those of them against whom (Our) word (of condemnation for their misdeeds) has already gone forth. But do not plead with Me in favour of those who have acted unjustly for they are (doomed) to be drowned.

23|28|Faitha istawayta anta waman maAAaka AAala alfulki faquli alhamdu lillahi allathee najjana  mina alqawmi alththalimeena

23|30|Inna fee thalika laayatin wain kunna lamubtaleena

23|30|Verily, this (account of Noah) is full of (many) signs. Surely, thus do We reveal the hidden truth (about the people and We did try the people of Noah).

23|32|And We sent to them a Messenger from among themselves, (who said,) `Worship Allâh. You have no god other than He. Will you not then guard against evil (deeds)?'

23|33|And the chiefs of his people who disbelieved and cried lies to the meeting (with the Lord) in the Hereafter, and whom We had given ease and comfort in the present life, said, `He is but a human being like yourselves. He eats of (the food) which you eat and drinks of (the drinks) which you drink.

23|34|Walain ataAAtum basharan mithlakum innakum ithan lakhasiroona

23|42|Thumma anshana min baAAdihim quroonan akhareena

23|42|Then We raised other generations after them.

23|43|Ma tasbiqu min ommatin ajalaha wama yastakhiroona

23|44|Then We sent Our Messengers successively (one after the other). Whenever there came to a community its Messenger (of God), they treated him as a liar. So We made some of them follow others (to destruction) and We reduced them to mere legendary tales. Therefore the people who do not believe are far removed (from the mercy of their Lord).

23|45|Thumma arsalna moosa waakhahu haroona biayatina wasultanin mubeenin

23|45|Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our Messages and a clear authority,

23|48|So they cried lies to both of them with the result they became of those who were destroyed.

23|49|Walaqad atayna moosa alkitaba laAAallahum yahtadoona

23|49|And (after this event) We gave Moses the Book (-the Torah) so that they (- his people) might receive guidance (through it).

23|50|WajaAAalna ibna maryama waommahu ayatan waawaynahuma  ila rabwatin thati qararin wamaAAeenin

23|50|And We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign, (and a model of virtue), and We gave them both refuge upon a worth-living lofty plateau abounding in (green and fruitful) valleys and springs of running water.

These are three times when your privacy should be respected. At other times no blame shall lie on you or on them (if they come to you without permission), for they have to move about (waiting upon you) some of you (attending) upon others (according to need).  25|47|Wahuwa allathee jaAAala lakumu allayla libasan waalnnawma subatan wajaAAala alnnahara nushooran

25|47|It is He Who has made the night as a covering mantle for you and (Who has made) sleep for (a short) rest (as well as a sign of eternal rest - the death), and (has made) the day for rising up and going about (to seek livelihood and also a sign of Resurrection).

25|48|Wahuwa allathee arsala alrriyaha bushran bayna yaday rahmatihi waanzalna mina alssamai maan tahooran

25|48|And it is He Who sends the winds as happy heralds of His mercy, and We send down from above water (also representing Divine revelation) for the purification (of the souls as well).

25|51|If We had so willed We would surely have raised (in place of universal Prophethood) a Warner in every town.

25|52|Fala tutiAAi alkafireena wajahidhum bihi jihadan kabeeran

25|52|So do not follow the disbelievers, and strive hard against them with the help of this (Qur'ân), a mighty striving.

25|53|Wahuwa allathee maraja albahrayni hatha AAathbun furatun wahatha milhun ojajun wajaAAala baynahuma barzakhan wahijran mahjooran

25|53|It is He Who has let the two spans of water loose to flow, one of them (- a river) sweet and thirst-quenching while the other (a sea) saltish (and) bitter, and He has set a barrier and an insurmountable partition between them; (still both exist side by side in the world and would continue).

25|54|Wahuwa allathee khalaqa mina almai basharan fajaAAalahu nasaban wasihran wakana rabbuka qadeeran

25|54|And it is He Who created human being from water and has given him relations by descent and (kindred) by marriage (and thus sought to establish a civilization and social life based on oneness of humanity under oneness of God). And your Lord is All-Powerful.

25|55|WayaAAbudoona min dooni Allahi ma la yanfaAAuhum wala yadurruhum wakana alkafiru AAala rabbihi thaheeran

25|55|Yet they (- the disbelievers) worship apart from Allâh the things which can neither do them good nor avert harm from them. And the disbeliever is ever a helper (of the upholders of the cause of untruth) against his Lord.

25|56|Wama arsalnaka illa mubashshiran wanatheeran

25|56|But We have sent you only as a Bearer of happy tidings (to the doers of good) and as a Warner ( to the wicked and the unjust).

25|57|Qul ma asalukum AAalayhi min ajrin illa man shaa an yattakhitha ila rabbihi sabeelan

25|57|Say, `I ask of you no recompense for it (- the services I render). All that I ask is that whosoever chooses may follow the path (that leads) to his Lord.'

25|58|Watawakkal AAala alhayyi allathee la yamootu wasabbih bihamdihi wakafa bihi bithunoobi AAibadihi khabeeran

25|58|Hence put your trust in the Ever-Living (God) Who is free from death, and glorify His holiness along with (celebrating) His praise and (also tell,) `Sufficient is He as being Well-Aware of the short-comings of His servants.'

25|59|Allathee khalaqa alssamawati waalarda wama baynahuma fee sittati ayyamin thumma istawa  AAala alAAarshi alrrahmanu faisal bihi khabeeran

25|59|It is He Who created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them in six aeons. Besides He is firmly established on the Throne (of Power). He is the Most Gracious (God). And ask concerning Him one who knows (- the Prophet Muhammad).

25|60|Waitha qeela lahumu osjudoo lilrrahmani qaloo wama alrrahmanu anasjudu lima  tamuruna wazadahum nufooran

25|60|And when it is said to them, `Prostrate (to show submission) to the Most Gracious (God).' They say, `What (thing) is this the Most Gracious (God)? Shall we prostrate to whatever you bid us to show submission?' So this (bidding of the Prophet to submit to the Lord) increased them in aversion (to the truth). [Prostration]
